Amherst Cheer Program 2017-2018
B-Team Middle School Combined (football only):
The middle school combined cheer squad will consist of rising seventh and eighth
graders from both Monelison Middle School and Amherst Middle School. The
team will practice at Amherst County High School, and will cheer at games on
Thursday afternoon for the middle school combined football team. Tryouts for
this squad will be Tuesday, May 23 and Wednesday, May 24 from 3:15-4:45 in the
Auxiliary Gym and Thursday, May 25 from 3:15-4:15 in the Main Gym at ACHS.
Amherst JV Sideline Cheer (football):
This squad is made up of twelve rising ninth and tenth grade students at Amherst
County High School. This team will cheer on Thursday evenings at the Junior
Varsity football games. Practices will take place at Amherst County High School.
Tryouts for this squad will be Tuesday, May 23 and Wednesday, May 24 from
3:15-4:45 in the Auxiliary Gym and Thursday, May 25 from 4:00-5:00 in the Main
Gym at ACHS.
Amherst Varsity Sideline Cheer (football):
Rising ninth through twelfth graders are eligible to try-out for this squad at
Amherst County High School. This team will cheer at football games on Friday
nights for the Varsity football team. Practices will take place at Amherst County
High School. Tryouts for this squad will be Tuesday, May 23 and Wednesday,
May 24 from 3:15-4:45 in the Auxiliary Gym and Thursday, May 25 from 4:00-5:00
in the Main Gym at ACHS.
** Current 2016-2017 VHSL physicals are still in effect for May try-outs; however,
any physical obtained after May 1, 2017 covers May try-outs as well as the entire
2017-2018 school year.
